Saving a Faithful Girl

For Christians, Muslims and Jews, angels are Godly beings who, according to bible, are said to be messengers, soldiers, guardians, healers, avengers, etc. They all have their own jobs in heaven. St. Gabriel the Archangel is a messenger, St. Michael the Archangel is a soldier, and St. Raphael the Archangel is a healer. I don't really know the exact number of known angels, but one thing is for sure, if ever it is true that each of us have guardian angels then they are much many than our population.

I love discussions about heavenly beings, but it's not the subject for today's urban legend. One of my classmates told me a story of someone who was saved from being raped by just praying to God for safety.

I think it could be better if I tell you the version I heard.

The Story

It was passed midnight when this girl, who was working as a call center agent, went home alone from her graveyard-shift job. Her friends invited her for a ride home, but she declined because it was too far. It could be a waste of time for them driving her home, she thought. So she took a taxicab alone.

After almost an hour, she finally arrived to her destination. The place is very dark not only because it was night but also the street lights are too far and some are not working. She started walking through an alley where she customarily pass going home.

A second later, she heard two drunk men singing very loud quite far from her. She was alarmed because news about girls being raped in their place is often heard. As she saw the two guys approaching, she started praying hard to God for safety - even included St. Michael's name in the prayer. The two is going nearer and nearer to her. She bowed down her head to prevent eye contact with the two drunk men.

As the two guys passed, she is aware that they stared at her before walking away continuously. It was a great relief passing the two guys without something worse happened. Thus she arrived in her house very safe.

The daylight came and she heard somebody was raped near the same alley where she walked through.

The story was actually told to us as an inspirational story telling us to keep praying not only when danger is coming, but also every time just to be safe. Well, it inspired me indeed. That's why I always pray everytime I'm going anywhere far from home. Besides, nothing will be taken or vanish from me for just a prayer, and it gave me much confidence to go anywhere.

Actually, I heard it many times but I ignored the real meaning of the story. I remembered my classmate laughing at it, he took it like a joke. He told me the reason why she (the woman in the story) was not victimized. It could be because the girl was ugly. Like the story above said, the two drunk men stared at her before walking away continuously.

Anyway, the story above seemed not enough. I mean, something is not told on it. And here it is . . .

As soon as she heard somebody's unfortunate fate, she was thankful, however a little guilty. She could be the victim. The suspect was still not identified, so she went to the police station to help.

She told the police her story, and with her help, the offender was identified. After arresting the offender, she asked one of the two guys why she was not the one they raped. And he answered:
Because you are not alone. Two big guys are beside you that time.

This continuation was my reconstruction of the finale of the story. That should be the end of the story telling the reason why she wasn't attacked by two drunk guys.

Information

I asked some people if they believed that the story is true. Some of them answered yes. In my opinion, YES - it is possible, and much possible if the end wasn't included.

Like other urban legends, this story has variations. Some story tells of a student's fate after seeing two NOT drunk men.

It reminded me actually of the Jeepney story urban legend. It was a warning-type, just telling people to be careful.

I don't know when this story circulated. But I found out in Snopes.com, that it first sprouted in 2001. Here in the Philippines, in my estimate, the story spread in the years 2005 to 2009 (the year when I heard it first).

The Snopes.com gave one point about the said story, Praying doesn't stop the rape; it merely diverts it from one potential victim to another. Meaning, God gave mercy to those who are faithful. But they also pointed out that, the truly worthy, the truly unworthy, and all manner of folk in between can and do get raped, beaten, murdered, and have any number of horrible fates visited upon them.

The 666 Rumor in Aquino Family

First of all, what's about this number 666?

666 ... The cursed number; the unlucky one; the number of the beast; and many more. All Christian know that, and it was written in the Holy Bible. It was according to Revelation 13:17-18:
. . . No man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.[17]
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.[18]
This number is also the alleged mark of the Anti-Christ people, which may appear by means of a tattoo or some say, as a bar code of something that will be inscribe or be put in human body. Example are the Biochip, Microchip, or Nanochip. (I don't what's there difference.) Its appearance is the clue of the coming Judgment Day.

Then, what's about this biochip, microchip or nanochip?

The future is now. I remember this line in the movie Time Machine. Well, it is true! Finally, the future is the time where we are right now. We have computers, gadgets, even robots, and aircrafts that, at some time in the past, was once a part of a science fiction book. Jules Verne is one of my favorite sci-fi novelist, and one of his books that caught my attention was From Earth to the Moon. At his time, no one believed that it could be possible, but look at us right now, the mankind planned to inhabit the Mars. Therefore, The Future is now.

By the way, what is its connection to the biochip, microchip or nanochip? Simple. Because this technology is part of what we call a futuristic machine.

The biochips are essentially miniaturized laboratories that can perform hundreds or thousands of simultaneous biochemical reactions. These chips are used for biological purposes. These will enable scientists to gather more information about the organism where it was embedded.[1]

While the microchip, perhaps, it's similar to the biochip but with different purpose. Or just another name for it. The nanochip is just the smaller kind of microchip.

According to rumors, this kind of chips will be used to humans. They (whoever they are) will insert it inside the skin. With these, humans will no longer need to handle a tangible kind of money, just like putting your funds in an ATM card than putting it in your wallet. Then, it will be used for pecuniary transactions - buying and selling of goods and services.

Aside of it, these will also help doctors to be updated with everyone's medical history. Instead of keeping a file with papers which can be destroyed anytime, it will be saved in the chip like a flash drive. Not only medical files, but also personal files like birth certificates and many more.

Some rumor also include that these chips can be used as a tracker for humans. Kinda like that of a global positioning system tracker. Thus, some authorized individuals will keep track wherever you are. In short, it will make 'hiding' impossible.

In other words, these chips will give us access to cyberspace.

What is its relation with the 666?

This question is hard to answer for me. I heard someone say that those chips have bar codes with number 666 on it. Book of Revelations [13:17] revealed that, . . . no one may buy or sell (or get health care) except one who has the mark, or the name of the Beast, or the number of his name. Accordingly, soon, everyone is required to have these tattoo or microchip so you can buy and sell food.

It's easy to promise that you will never acquire one because you know you can patiently live without it. As a parent or a child or a brother/sister, can you afford to see your love ones dying and suffering of poverty and sickness? Well, some of you would say its better to die than have it, but some will sacrifice themselves for the sake of others. Some . . . They don't care about it. {: )

That's enough for an introduction. We'll actually be discussing the 666 rumor of the Aquino Family and the Aquino Administration.

Kris Aquino

Kris Aquino (whole name Kristina Bernadette Cojuangco Aquino) is a Filipino television and movie personality who gained prominence from her talk shows, game shows, and numerous endorsements.[2] That's why Filipinos call her the Queen of all Media, Queen of Philippine Talk, and Queen of Philippine Game Shows. Well, I also heard that someone addressed her as the Filipino Oprah Winfrey. She was also called as the Massacre Queen because she starred in a true-to-life story of Vizconde Murder.

She was the daughter of Pres. Corazon C. Aquino and Sen. Benigno S. Aquino Jr.. She was the youngest of the five children.

The first thing that comes in my mind whenever I hear her name is her horror movies - Feng Shui and Sukob. I love those movies because they scared me so much, and, somehow, gave me an idea about Filipino pamahiin (superstition).

There was this rumor pointing her that tells about a biochip inserted in her right hand (some said, it is embedded in her wrist). They said it was a 666 biochip. Many people believed on it. The rumor started sometime before the year 2000.

I have no idea if this rumor is true. One of my professor believed it was real. She's actually the one who gave me an idea about this. I still need to find for a strong proof.

Pres. Benigno "Noynoy" S. Aquino Sr.

Pres. Noy is Kris Aquino's only male sibiling.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

[ANNOUNCEMENT:

The Biochips will be injected in an individual's right hand or forehead!!! Which they call "LIFETIME SAVING IN US"!!! Next is the PHILIPPINES!!! Many people have volunteered to be sealed!!! According to the TIMES NEWS...
PLS. PASS TO ALL CHRISTIAN!!! BE READY "JESUS IS COMING SOON" Morning or night or noon. PLS.READ, REVELATION 13:1-8]

It includes a Bible Verse:
And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, [According to the Book of Daniel, these represents the 10 nations.] and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the names of blasphemy.[1]

And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the mouth of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon[The dragon could be Satan.] gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.[2]

And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.[3]

And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshiped the beast saying, "who is able to make war with him?[4]

And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.[5]

And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.[6]

And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.[7]

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.[8]
What do you think is its connection to the above announcement?

Anyway, I found this announcement from Facebook.com. It was posted April 21, 2012 at 9:53 pm. I found it September 6, 2013 which means its 1 year ago. I don't actually believe on it because the time itself can be an evidence against its genuineness. However, I am still curious. Why do people spread such an announcement? I still need to verify if the DZRH really announce it on radio.

In addition to, the original version of it was posted in the year 2009. According to it, it was Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo who approved the budget. Take note, in that same version, it was not 150 Million dollars but only 15 Million dollars was approved.

By the way, what is Unified Multi SSS ID System?

The real name of it is Unified Multi-Purpose ID. It was a card developed as a single card for the relations between several government-related agencies. Those agencies are Social Security System (SSS), Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), and the Pag-IBIG Fund (Pagtutulungan sa Kinabukasan: Ikaw, Bangko, Industriya, at Gobyerno or Home Development Mutual Fund). The card is also suggested to be used as voter's ID. This card was introduced in 2010. Therefore, it is not a Biochip but only a handy Identification Card.[4]

Findings

According to a Wordpress.com blog, the University of Illinois, which was Pres. Barrack Obama's alma mater, produced a microchip that can be inserted inside human skin just like a temporary tattoo which will link physical world with the cyberworld.

Pres. Obama included a provision in his Obamacare plan for this kind of technology which will begin by 2013.

Well, the chip is created for human advantage and for good reasons. This will be used to monitor medical status of humans and for treating disorders that require links to computers.[5]

Aquino Family

to all christian MAY BAD NEWS POH ...ANG FAMILYA NILA KRIS AQUINO AY MAG PA2TATAK NPOH NG BIO CHIP O (666) LIFE SAVING ... [To all Christians, I have a bad news. Kris Aquino's family will be marking themselves with a biochip or (666) life saving. If Noynoy will win (the presidential election), Philippines will be hopeless because the Anti-Christs will overwhelm the country... So, will you please spread this news to others. Especially to Born Again.]

*Born Again: Non-Catholic Christians.

I will not name who spread this news in Facebook.com. I don't know what made him/her do it. It was posted May 15, 2010 at 5:59 pm.

I created this article not to discriminate the Aquino Family. I made this just to collect rumors about them. But personally, I don't believe on those rumors.

About Kris Aquino, well, I know sometimes she's rough or kinda maarte, no one shall criticize her. Walang basagan ng trip. About PNoy, I know he will do anything for Philippines' sake (I wish). He knew what's right and wrong, and he knew what his parents did for their beloved country.

Remember: The first person who throws a rock is the one who is clean. You know what I mean.

    Hate Letter to Filipinos

As I read the Hate Letter, which they said, written by Mr. Art Bell, I was disturbed! I felt angry on how he look at Filipinos, and I was very offended to how he described my country - Third World (which he meant many things, such as uneducated, pervert, and trashy.)

I can't imagine that there's an individual person existing in this world as racist as he is. Whoever created this e-mail, he is much more disgusting than the Filipino he is pointing out. He speaks for the whole not for few, but even he did, still he is much puking. Whatever nation and race he came from, perhaps, it's the most flawless and perfect country of all. I don't want to speak wicked things on his country, but to him, I will.

    Story

According to the E-mail, it was created by Art Bell.

Arthur William "Art" Bell, III (commonly known as Art Bell) is an American broadcaster, an author, and founder of the Pahrump, Nevada-based radio station, KNYE 95.1 FM. He also created and formerly hosted its companion show, Dreamland. Semi-retired from Coast to Coast AM since 2003, he hosted the show many weekends for the following four years. He announced his retirement from weekend hosting on July 1, 2007 but occasionally serves as a guest host.

It was stated in e-mail that Art Bell once lived in the Philippines, and it is true. Moreover, his wife is a Filipino. Nowadays, he is still living in the said country with his family. That made me doubt of his authorship of Hate Letter. How can he say those words if his wife is a citizen of the country he is insulting? Make sense...

Well, here's the letter in e-mail:

[Taken from Internet: (Mon, 7 Jul 2008 13:16:26)]

    Filipinos... ..*make me puke*
    (Art Bell)

As we've all come to notice, in the past few decades, Filipinos have begun to infest the United States like some sort of disease. Their extensive involvement in the U.S. Armed Forces is proof of the trashy kind of qualities all Filipinos tend to exhibit on a regular basis. You can see this clearly by studying the attitudes and cultural Icons of most Filipino Americans.

    Origins of Pinoys/Pinays:

Are they really Asian? Well we've come to accept the fact the Filipinos come from a part of the world known as South East Asia . But the term ' Asia ' is used in the wrong way. You may notice that contemporary Filipino Americans try very hard to associate ate themselves with groups that we know as Asian. I cannot count the number of times I have seen a ' Third World ' Filipino try to connect themselves to the Chinese or Japanese people. There is no connection and here's why. The Philippines is a Third World country. Nothing respectable has EVER been created by Filipino people during our entire human history. Young Filipino men in America have become obsessed with 'import racing'. They have an enormously perverted affection for Japanese cars. It's a common phenomenon. In their minds, these Filipinos somehow believe that they are Asian and that it somehow connects them to Japanese people and Japanese cars. They often take credit for the ingenuity of Japanese people and say how it's an 'Asian thing'. This term...'Asian thing' derived directly from African American slang 'blackthang' . 'It's a black thang.' 'It's an Asian thang.' You can see the connection. It's even funnier that, in Japan , Filipinos are heavily discriminated against. The only Filipinos that can live successfully in Japan are the Filipino prostitutes. But that's the case for most Filipino people no matter where they live in the world . Now we've come down to this fact...and it is a fact.

Nothing in Filipino Culture can be seen as Asian. They have no architectural, artistic, or cultural influence which is in ANY way, Asian. Thinking of the great countries in Asia such as Japan , Korea , and China there is no way you can possibly connect the Philippine Islands. This assault by Filipino Americans to connect themselves with the great peoples of North East Asia is foul and disgusting. Try visiting a young Filipino's web site too. You'll see something called the 'Asian IRC Ring'. It has to do with the chatrooms. The most horrible thing about this is that these TRASHY people are trying to associate themselves with Asia again!! People in Asia don't act like, this at all. What we are seeing here is the natural Filipino in it's element with full access to technology and this is how they act! You will consistently see this behavior over and over again.

Another interesting thing is that these 'third world' people also frequent RC chatrooms such as #Chinese # Japan and #Asian. They must believe that they are some how related racially or culturally to North Asians. But it's completely WRONG! There might have been some distant contact With China and even less with Japan during World War II, but these people are actually more closely related to African Americans and Mexican Americans.

Do the parents of these young Filipinos know what's going on? Would they accept this? I believe that they would and do. This is the natural 'Trash' element in Filipinos manifesting itself. Nothing good has ever come from Philippines and I don't believe anything good ever will.

Recognizing your Roots (A Message to Filipinos)

    To all filipino people:

Please recognize your ROOTS! You come from the Third World ! You country is a disgusting and filthy place. Most people there live in poverty! Your culture has MUCH MORE SPANISH influen ce than chinese, and absolutely no JAPANESE influence whatsoever. People in Japan and China , do not act like you. They do not constantly talk about sex and they have a MUCH HIGHER level of RESPECT for each other. There is NO WAY that you can connect yourself to Asia other than location. Your culture and technological advancement does not even come CLOSE to What Chinese, people have done in the past and what Japanese and Korean people are doing now! Everything you do is distinctly filipino. You cannot take credit for Japanese cars, video games, or Hentai! It's not an 'asian thing' it's, an 'American thing'. You have no concept of culture...no concept of asian ideas or asian philosophy! Can you demonstrate how you use Confucianism or Taoism in you everyday life?? You can't. And you will NEVER be able to. I understand t hat you are trying to create an identity for yourselves as young people... but it is NOT related to Asia .

Your Identity is Filipino. That's all you are. Just Filipino. Think about what that means....

    Sincerely,
    Art

As I read the main letter, I was almost convinced that it was true, that Art Bell made it. Well, some of the qualities of Filipinos told above is quite real. Even I would admit it.
  • Filipinos are trying to connect themselves to other races.

Well, it is somewhat true. Filipinos have this attitude: Colonial Mentality. Colonial mentality refers to institutionalized or systemic feelings of inferiority within some societies or people who have been subjected to colonialism, relative to the values of the foreign powers which had previously subjugated them through colonization. Philippines was once colonized by Spaniards (Spanish) which brought this kind of mentality among Filipinos, until now. It is said that when a foreign colonial or imperial power is too strong to be effectively resisted, the colonised population often has no other immediate option than to accept the rule of the foreigners as an inescapable reality of life. Filipinos was oppressed and forced to do work (Polo y Servicio) by Spanish invaders, but those Filipinos with foreign ancestry (Filipino Mestizo) are exempted. They were even free to have education while natives were not. Thus, in order for Filipinos to achieve freedom, they need to marry foreigners.

  • Filipinos affection for foreign products.

Yes, it is quite true. It is because, some Filipinos treat local products as low class. So they prefer to buy foreign goods.
Young Filipino men in America Have become obsessed of 'import racing'. The Import Scene or Import Racing Scene or Tuner Scene refers to the subculture that revolves around modifying imported brand cars (commonly referred to as imports), especially those of Japanese brands, for street racing.

  • Nothing respectable has ever been created by Filipino people during our entire human history.

Definitely it is not true! We Filipinos had created many respectable things in the world. Even the simplest thing, you can count on it. I just can't tell them all, one-by-one. Examples are, Jose Rizal, many people (local or foreign) were inspired to what this Filipino guy did for his nation; Previous Pres. Corazon Aquino, fighting for democracy, who also inspired other countries to fight for their freedom; Manny Pacquiao, for giving honor to Filipinos in boxing; OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers), who sacrificed themselves for the sake of their family; and many more. If he only know.

  • The only Filipinos that can live successfully in Japan are the Filipino prostitutes.

I don't want to comment on this one. But I definitely disagree with it. There's still Filipinos who became successful for being a good worker, not from being a good prostitute.

  • Nothing in Filipino Culture can be seen as Asian. They have no architectural, artistic, or cultural influence which is in ANY way, Asian.

I can't think of one, but the reason behind that is, Filipinos came from different kinds of Asian people, and these people originated in countries where civilization concentrated. If you notice, whatever island you visit in this country, there is another culture and language different from where you are. That is an evidence that Filipinos came not from only one kind of Asian, and was not united before the Hispanic Era occur. Other than that, we are not alone from being like it, if we actually are.
  • Here's the continuation of the e-mail:

... and here's a response to this idiotic mail:

    ------------ --------- --------- --------- ---

I find this funny, he is right in some ways where we, as Filipinos dont actually have an 'Identity'. I think this is due to the confusion of our mixed races from Hispanic, Chinese, American and Malay origins. I see it in malls, imagine young generations wearing ski caps and ski goggles in a tropical country, baggy low rise pants like that of African Americans living in th e Bronx of New York, not to mention endless whitening products being sold at department stores and drug stores. But his ignorance also blinds him from the other truth. That while we may glorify Anime shows and Japanese Internet gaming, he is not aware that a nameless Filipino may be responsible for some technical aspects of some Japanese software. He is not aware of our contribution to the the society in general .Technological advancements that may have aided post war navigations and landing on the moon. That the antibiotic Erythromycin was discovered by Dr. Abelardo Aguilar from Iloilo creating the brand 'Ilosone'. Thomas Edison may have discovered the electric light bulb and the fluorescent lighting was thought up by Nikola Tesla. But the fluorescent lamp we use today was invented by Agapito Flores (a Cebuano named Benigno Flores of Bantayan Island , according to the Philippine Daily inquirer), a Filipino scientist. Americans helped then-Philippine leader Ramon Magsaysay to develo p it for worldwide commerce.

That the personal physician of former U.S. Pres. Bill Clinton is Eleanor 'Connie' Concepcion Mariano, a Filipina doctor who was the youngest captain in the US Navy. A Filipino writer Jose Rizal could read and write at age 2, and grew up to speak more than 20 languages, including Latin, Greek, German, French and Chinese. Or that a Filipino genius was responsible for the near hiatus in the PENTAGON and White HOuse nearly infiltrating their closely guarded secrets with the 'ILOVEYOU' bug. Nuisance maybe, but still one heck of a 'beautiful mind'...not to be underestimated. The list goes on and on, but who cares right? Certainly not Mr. Art Bell...Boy, I'm not surprised. Perhaps Art Bell does not know that although we consider ourselves ASIAN because we are strategically located in the Southeast asian region of which our nearest neighbors are Malays, ASIA does not mean only Chinese and Japanese race of people. Then maybe it is his connotation that 'Asia' meant only our economically successful, paler brothers and he considers Malays such as Thais, Malaysians, Indonesians, and ourselves as a ' Third World ' race. Then it is 'his' ignonimity that would make a civilized person of whatever race puke. Imagine literally connecting Chinese, Koreans and Japanese to the Philippine Islands which is archipelagos away from the countries he has mentioned. I also wonder where he got the impression that we aspire to be Japanese(??? ) Hispanics maybe but not the Japanese. But even Hispanics today do not mind sharing their 'surnames' to their Asian brothers who they have colonized for 3 centuries.

Another sad reality that although most Filipinos working overseas are domestic helpers and prostitutes, who does he think educates the toddlers of Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Tokyo? Parents of these countries rarely have time spent with their children, leaving them to their Filipino nannies. And with regards to prostitution. Filipinos are not the only ones working as one. I HARDLY SEE FILIPINOS STARRING IN PORN MOVIES. THERE MIGHT BE A FEW FILIPINOS WE HAVEN'T SEEN , BUT MOST ARE FROM MR. ART BELL'S RACE.

He also mentioned that we have no concept of culture..no concept of asian ideas or asian philosophy. How can we demonstrate Confucianism or Taoism in a Christian nation? IS HE INFORMED THAT THE PHILIPPINES IS THE ONLY PREDOMINANTLY CHRISTIAN/CATHOLIC NATION IN ASIA ?! YOU HAVE TO USE COMMON SENSE IN A LOT OF THINGS SOMETIMES...

We do not need to create an identity for ourselves. We are who we are. Our identity stems from the anonymity we live in this world. How we contribute silent ly towards the progress of the world and not just one country. Although the Filipino blood may be tainted with malice, corruption, poverty and prostitution, it is not a perfect race... But so are the others. Maybe Mr. Art Bell needs to think about this. WE MAY NOT BE PERFECT MR. BELL BUT AT LEAST WE STILL H AVE VALUES. FOR ONE THING WE DONT PUT OUR AGING PARENTS IN NURSING HOMES BECAUSE 'THEY'RE SIMPLY OLD AND WORTHLESS'. WE DONT HAVE AS MUCH NUMBERS OF SINGLE MOTHERS WHO GET PREGNANT IN THEIR VERY EARLY TEENS AND EVENTUALLY BECOME PARASITES OF THE GOVERNMENT FOR YEARS AND YEARS. THEY'RE ACTUALLY IMMIGRANTS TOO. AND THOSE EDUCATED ONES DO NOT ACT LIKE YOU DO, PERHAPS BECAUSE THEY'VE REALLY BEEN WELL EDUCATED..AFTER ALL THAT'S SAID... WHO IS THE IGNORANT ONCE AGAIN?! -

    About

This E-mail hoax spread specifically in America, but it went out to other countries, and even got in the Philippines.

Hans Eisenman enumerated four things to look for when reading E-mails similar above:
  • Does the email recommending sending it to everyone you know?

    Yes, as written above:
... send this to as many person as you can until it
    reaches him.
  • Does reading it make you feel outraged, angry or like you have to "do something"?

    Yes
  • Do you find yourself saying "incredible!", but yet somehow believing it could happen?

    Yes
  • Does the subject matter scare you? Does it make you think "what a scary world we live in today!" or something similar? In other words, is it preying on your fears?

    Yes
  • Definitely the E-mail complies on the said requirements above to be a hoax. But actually, in this case, the message speaks to all the Filipinos, not for a specific one. Whether this is not written by Art Bell, yet it prejudices the personality and character of every Filipino in the world. It still affect the treatment of foreign nation and people to Filipinos.

Well, I need to accept the opinion of other people. Truth can set everybody free, and DOGS BARK WHEN THEY DON'T KNOW THE PERSON.

Here's the whole e-mail: (Note: I didn't edit it. I retained the original form.)

    Subject: "Hate Letter"
    Date: Mon, 7 Jul 2008 13:16:26 -0400

This is a very disturbing open E-mail letter to all Filipinos around
The world; specially here in North America !, from a man who has the power
To reach million of people. (he's a radio talk host)

    Please read on.......... ....

This is an open letter email by Art Bell, a radio talk show host in Nevada (more info in the email itself). Here is yet another person who has taken advantage of his power and privilege to use hateful words and racial stereotypes that breed further ignorance and intolerance in our society.

Art Bell is a talk radio host who has two shows that he broadcasts from his home in Nevada , that is rebroadcast by 400 stations across the country.

He's written 2 books. He lived in Okinawa , Japan for some years and had a radio program on the English station here. And, though it's hard to believe after reading the following letter from him, he actually has been to the Philippines (he's traveled fairly extensively around the world).

This letter is so degrading, I think it's really important that everybody read this and not attack him, but respond to him in a civilized manner because otherwise his th oughts will be reaffirmed. Understand that not everyone has a viewpoint like we do, and that this is an opinion of someone who hopefully can be changed only by civil actions.

    ............. ......... ......... ......... .......
Filipinos... ..*make me puke* (Art Bell)

    Sincerely,
    Art
and here's a response to this idiotic mail:

    ------------ --------- --------- --------- ---

I find this funny, he is right in some ways where we, as Filipinos dont actually have an 'Identity'. I think this is due to the confusion of our mixed races from Hispanic, Chinese, American and Malay origins. I see it in malls, imagine young generations wearin g ski caps and ski goggles in a tropical country, baggy low rise pants like that of African Americans living in th e Bronx of New York, not to mention endless whitening products being sold at department stores and drug stores.

My dear people, please know what 666 means, that is a mark of anti-Christ and it also contain a curse from God. Whoever will be marked with this, foul and horrible wounds will appear in your skin and that's the punishment and it come from God. Revelations 13:16-18. And when the time the judgement of our Lord Jesus Christ, whatever you'll do to find death, it will resist you. That'll be the passport of mankind sealed with 666 towards hell - the world of dead and also the world of eternal punishment and everlasting fire. I once been there, when I died 1970 because of raptured appendix. God sent me back as witness that hell or inferno is real. Don't make funny of hell and 666 because that will be your implication for safety of you soul and spirit.

    Information

Cabanatuan is a first class, partially urban city in the province of Nueva Ecija, Philippines. It is considered the commercial, industrial and educational hub of the province. The city lies in the middle of the province, surrounded by six other municipalities.

Being one of the urbanized city in the north of Metro Manila, their culture there is different compared to Metro Manila, especially the main dialect used there is not Filipino (or Tagalog).

By the way, the message above is not real. If it happens to be real, then why didn't it spread in Metro Manila? Is it exclusive to Cabanatuan people?

666 is not a simple subject, it is known world wide. It is very complicated, and hard to explain. We don't even know where will it rise or begin.

The last version is much more interesting than the former. The writer mentioned the verse Revelations 13:16-18:
    (16) It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, (17) so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.

    (18) This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man.[a] That number is 666.
The verse is about the reason and cause why people will be attracted to have the seal imprinted on them.

Another thing about the last version, he/she said he had been in hell. Well, many people will just ignore it and take it seriously. Actually, even I will not believe on it. Perhaps the person who published it in internet may had heard or read it from an old letter, because it says there:
NAKARATING NA AKO DOON NG MAMATAY AKO NG 1970 DAHIL SA RAPTURED APPENDEX.
I once been there, when I died 1970 because of raptured appendix.
It says there, he died 1970, the time when computer is not freely used by all people for social networking sites.

    The Curse of One's Death

    DON'T READ ME!

    The Curse of One's Death

During the Spanish times, there was once a Spanish lady here in the Philippines. She was walking somewhere when she met an old filipino, carrying a heavy baggage on his back. Then he suddenly fell on the road because of exhaustion. Since Filipinos were meanly treated as slave workers, she kicked his body to get him out of her way. Then, when the Spanish lady had passed through, th old man just stared at her, as if waiting for her to leave. Then, the old man threw a curse - The Curse of One's Death.

The day after the incident, she heard the old man she saw yesterday had passed away. She was surprised and quite shaken by that news, so she immediately told the whole story to a certain friend.

The next day, her friend died a mysterious death, with no trace of illness or accident. This time, the Spanish lady became even more frightened. To have someone console her, she again told somebody, this time, a bishop, about the old man she met by the road.

Subsequently the bishop died, and just like what had happened to her friend, there was no evidence of sickness or accident too. This made the Spanish lady terriby worried. It finally occurred to her that a curse must be the cause surrounding those untimely and unexplainable deaths. She then consulted an albularyo[witch doctor; a shaman]. She told everything that happened, from the old man to the death of the Bishop. Then the witch doctor advised to her that the only way to break the curse was to tell the story to the one she loved she loved the most.

And so she did follow what the witch doctor had said. Unfortunately, it was the Spanish lady who soon died.

And so the story of the Spanish lady was passed on to everyone; from one place to another. Then, there was a Filipino who soon heard about that story. While he was about to sleep one night , suddenly, an image of a woman appeared in front of him. It was the Spanish lady, she was saying something in Spanish. And the Filipino just nodded, although wondering what the lady had said to him. Then she disappeared, like a mist in the night.

"WHOEVER WILL HEAR OR READ THIS STORY WILL SEE THE SPANISH LADY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT."

But, to stop the curse, just pass it on.
I told you not to read this!!!

Hahaha . . . ! I was just kidding. You can read the story above freely and with no worries. Well, I don't believe it. I had tried it (with faith in God) not to pass to other people, but NOTHING happened to me that night. But some people, claimed they saw her. And what she look like? Similar to that described below. This story is everywhere, so I can't put here the source where I found this.

According to my research, I found this other version:

An old filipino man was carrying a heavy sack of rice. He fell down in front of a spanish lady. The spanish lady kicked him. Before she left he cursed him with the "Curse of Ones Death."

Later that day the man died. She felt horrible of the curse that she told what happened to her friends. The friend died the next day with no possible cause of accident or illness. She told it to the bishop the next week. The bishop also died.

To remove the curse, she consulted a witch doctor. He adviced her to tell it to her love. She did it but she died instead of her love.

Right now the curse still exist. Those who read or hear this story has experienced seeing the ghost of the lady at midnight.

A girl who told this to me saw her. She is a white spectre with Maria Clara attire.

To cure this curse, you must pass this story to another person.
All of those who passed this story claimed they saw this lady:
A girl who told this to me saw her. She is a white spectre with Maria Clara attire.

The Spanish Lady looks like a specter, wearing a long gown(here, known as the Maria Clara-look), with a pure white body....
Some other versions, put the name of the starter (author). And she was Rachel Pulumbarit.

I remember the story of Maria Labo[1]. But the chain message about her says: Whenever you suddenly remember her at 3pm or 3am, she will appear in front of you.

    Maria Labo

Ever since, stories about aswangs in the Philippines were always pointed to the Visayan islands, most especially in the Provinces of Iloilo, Capiz, Antique, and Aklan, as the origination. The known legend about Tiniente Gimo and Maria Labo came from them.

Maria Labo was the name used to refer to the female vampire who came from Iloilo or Capiz (others suggest from Sorsogon). She was popularized by the story that she murdered her two sons and then cooked them. She was recognizable by her huge scar across her face, thus she got her name. Aside of the provinces in Panay Island, her story is also famous in other neighboring provinces like Cebu. She even reached the city of Davao.

    Legend

It's my professor who gave me an idea about her. He even gave me the popular text message that terrorized people who receives it. Well, I also searched some of her stories and collected them here just to make a clear and whole tale about her life. When I found the Ang Tatlong Katauhan ni Maria Labo, it made me understand what actually happened to her. Until now, I am in search of the said article in a news paper that made her popular.

    [Taken from Internet:]

A young woman named Maria went to Canada as a caregiver. There, she took care of an old man which, according to rumours, was possessed by the so-called "vampire" (some "aswang") curse.

When the old man died, he passed the curse (some say, his powers) to Maria. Finding no luck in Canada, Maria went home. It was then that her thirst for human flesh started. When her husband, a policeman, went home one night, he looked for their kids. The deranged Maria pointed to the stove where she had cooked their children. Enraged, her husband struck her with a bolo ("labo") where she obtained a scar on her face, earning her the monicker Maria Labo.

They said, she fled to Visayas, then to Mindanao, in a quest to satiate her hunger for human flesh and viscera. Like a typical aswang, she has the ability to change her appearance. Sometimes she appears as a beautiful young lady. At other times, she appears as an old woman.

    [Taken from a Text Message:]

She was recently a saleslady in a mall (I don't know where specifically in the Philippines she is now), living as a normal person, and whenever you remember abruptly about her at exactly 3 in the morning and afternoon, she'll suddenly appear in front of you then kill you. Some said, she has a cellphone number. (I don't know what will happen if you'll call her.)

Ang Tatlong Katauhan ni Maria Labo
    By: Abelardo Gajarion

Mayroon silang dalwang anak, sina Pablo at Rosalinda.

Tienes hambre? E, are you, e, starved?

Senor Gustavo wants to ... e, hablar ... e, speak to you ...

    Are you Filipina?

I am Filipina.

Maria, nunca, e, do not go out of the room if Senor Gustavo, e, is not asleep yet.

The Three Faces of Maria Labo
    By: Abelardo Gajarion
    [translated]

    1. As militarization became widespread in the barrios, it caused disarray to the province of Sorsogon. Farmers and fishers have no abundant harvests; many small businesses closed; children can't go to their schools; and people can't almost go out of their houses. All of them were waiting a bomb to fall on their place, so they'll die together, except Maria Labo.

Maria and Ermin Labo resided in a small hut made of cogon and bamboo which was located near the foot of the mountain far from the village. They had two children, namely Pablo and Rosalinda. Ermin is a farmer, while Maria was a vendor of their harvests in the village.

When they got no abundant harvest in their vegetable farm, Maria decided to go to her friend who was searching for domestic helpers who wanted to go to Spain. She thought she may earn more money by working overseas than selling vegetable which she can't even do because of the war in their province.

They mortgaged their farmland, as well as the place where their house stood, to obtain money as payment for her placement fee. Three months later, she was sent to Spain.

    2. Maria was brought in an old mansion in a village far from the city. She went down from a bus and stood in the front of a big and old iron gate. It was twined by crawling plants. According to the agency who sent her, only an old man and his trustee were living in the mansion where she's going to work.

She entered the gate which is partly open. Far from where she stood, she can see the whole gray mansion. She needed to walk almost two kilometers before arriving the mansion. The road was dusty, aligned with large trees in both sides.

Upon arriving in the front of the mansion, Maria was surprised seeing a large door, almost three times of her height, made of wood decorated with sculpted grapes and flowers. The whole mansion is made of cement. She noticed the grasses on its garden have grown as tall as her knee. The right side of the mansion was almost covered by creeping plants.

She knocked the door using the round metal hanging on the lion head doorknocker. She gazed on all directions, thinking she will find someone, however no one welcomed her. After five minutes of waiting, the door just opened voluntarily. It opened very slowly and it made an unpleasant sound as if it was closed for so long and it was opened for the first time. Upon entering the door, she saw no one.

She didn't see the old man who devotedly watch her from the time she entered the gate and while she's walking towards the mansion.

Hola, como estas? (Hello, how are you?) Greeted by the man who appeared from the left corner of the mansion.

Maria was startled. She, unexpectedly, didn't thought a man wearing a beautiful attire will just appear from no where.

Soy Eduardo. Que te llamas? (I'm Eduardo. What's your name?)

Maria didn't know what to answer.

Comprendes Espanol? (Can you understand Spanish?)

She just shook her head. Whether she knows Spanish or none at all, surely she knew a little. The guy stared at her first before speaking in English.

    Follow. Follow.

Eduardo was the trustee of the mansion. He worked there for many years. He was planning to quit now, but he can't do it till he finds the right woman to take care of his master.

They took half a day to finish walking around the mansion. They inspect and visited every room while Eduardo explained to Maria her job. He stammeringly used English, even Maria can't understand much.

Tienes hambre? (Are you hungry?) E, are you, e starved?

Maria didn't know what to answer so she just nod. Eduardo noticed that Maria don't understand him. So he concluded that he found the girl he was searching for.

    Senor Gustavo wants to . . . e, hablar . . . e, speak to you . . .

It was three months since Maria started to work there, but still they have difficulty in understanding and talking with each other. So its more easy for them to use sign language instead.

Within that three months, she had had a chance to go inside Mister Gustavo's room only two times. Eduardo said, in stammering and patching story, Mister Gustavo was sick for so many years ago, until now. It was very intricate, that's why no one must see him.

The first time Maria had a chance to go inside Gustavo's room, they even got no chance of seeing each other. Eduardo just introduce her, however they're only standing in the door. The area where Gustavo was resting was very dark which made it difficult for her to clearly see the face of the old man.

In the second time, Maria got a chance to go nearer to Mr. Gustavo. She just get the urinal beside her master. His skin was wrinkled. His hair was so thin. His eyes are almost white. Before she departed, Gustavo asked her. His voice was so low which Maria can't almost hear.

    Are you Filipina?

Maria nodded, she understood the small question of her master.

A, opo, si, si, Senor Gustavo. I am Filipina.

Maria wondered why she was called by Gustavo even though Eduardo was there to give his orders of whatever he needs. She thought some possible reasons. She left her work in the kitchen just to go to his room. Before going out of the kitchen, Eduardo gave her some warnings.

Maria, nunca (never), e, do not go out of the room if Senor Gustavo, e, is not asleep yet.

She knocked slowly at the door of Mr. Gustavo's room. She went near to the old man. He signaled her to go nearer. It seemed her master was whispering something. Slowly, she brought her face nearer to Mr. Gustavo's.

Maria was very nervous. She didn't even predict that it'll be her last. Because when she go out, she'll be different from normal.

3There have been many changes in Maria's family since she came back from Spain. It was two months after she went back to Sorsogon, her province.

All the people are very jealous of her when she arrived home. She had spent four months in the Spain, but she had brought many pasalubong (take homes) for that short time. She brought up expensive plates, utensils, and candelabra. The mortgage of their land was paid and they had built a new house.

However, they (their neighbors) wondered why they haven't seen Maria went out of their house. They often wait her go out to walk around the town but they have no chance of seeing her.

Likewise, Ermin and his children didn't go outdoors too. They are wondering very much of Maria's coldness to them. She's not talking, but she still remain caring and giving. At night, on the bed, Ermin hear her repressed cry. Whenever he attempts to touch her for comfort, he always feel, as if, burned of coldness of her body. She seemed like an ice. Ermin blanketed and hugged her, but he felt somewhat like he was just hugging on a wind.

One night, Ermin jump up while hearing Maria squealling at the window. When he woke up to see his wife, he was frightened seeing her soaked in blood. Her neck was slashed and blood spits on it. He went back from lying on the bed not noticeably awake, although he was very scared. He saw Maria passed through the wall. He was terrorized. He pretended sleeping when she went near him. He knew that she went close to him and stared at his face. He smelled the bad odor of the blood and the rotten flesh. He prayed that all were just a dream. And if he's in a nightmare, he prayed he'll wake up, and wished everything are back to normal.

When he woke up the next day, Maria was not on her side. He looked for her any where in the house, but he found her nowhere. He also asked his children if they saw her, but like him, they didn't, starting last night.

The children told Ermin that they dreamt of their mother crying in their room. Her body was full of blood. Her neck was slashed and the blood oozes out from it. She went near them and kissed each of them, then when they woke up, they saw nothing or even saw any evidence that their mother went there.

Ermin felt horrified. All of them saw Maria last night in the same situation. Still, he was wondering where his wife might be. Time passed by, he felt more and more nervous for things he might discover.

Seven o'clock in the evening, still, Maria was not home, when suddenly, they heard someone knocks at the door. Hastely, Ermin got up to open it. He hoped it was Maria. But, when he opened, there was two foreigner standing.

The two men came from the Spanish Embassy. They informed him that they saw the dead body of Maria Labo rotten under her master's bed in the Spain. Mr. Gustavo was an excellent doctor who became mad because his Filipina wife derparted him.

Now, Mr. Gustavo was brought to mental hospital while his trustee, Eduardo, was prisoned from hiding the crime done by his master.

Ermin was speechless. He look at the whole house. He can't imagine that Maria was dead for almost two months, inspite all the moneys and things she brought home. He didn't believe them. So he angrily told them to go away.

He waited for Maria. He just think that she was on a vacation and she'll be home soon. He waited her wife for a long time. After some weeks Maria came, now . . . a rotten corpse.

    Variations

Because of this variations of Maria Labó's legends, story about her became unbelievable.
  • Maria Labo was a simple beautiful young girl who was raped by village men. Swearing revenge, she is said to roam the fringes of small towns victimizing young men.

  • She was an OFW who acquired vampiric powers from the old man she took care in Canada. When she went home, she found herself wanting to eat human flesh. Thus, she killed her own children.

  • Some version, Maria Labó was just a human being without any supernatural powers, however she was a cannibal who ate her own two sons.

  • Yet another version, she was an OFW who was killed by a Spanish old man. She went home as a ghost.

  • Other version says that she came from Iloilo, some from Capiz and yet from Sorsogon.

  • About this

The story of Maria Labó has found its way in the local news papers and true ghost story books so most probably, this story is partly true. It took fame at the midst of 2003. This story caused a stir in the city some 5 years ago. But according to the story Ang Tatlong Katauhan Ni Maria Labo (as shown above), she was not actually an aswang (vampire) but a victim of murber of a madman overseas. She came back with her moneys and things, not as a human, but a ghost. Before she departed her family, she'd put them first in good place.

It seems her influence to many people stays till now, and even stories of her personal life is rumored.

    Conclusion

According to the text message, whenever you remember her every 3:00 am or pm, she'll appear after you and will kill you. For me, it's very impossible for her to visit every person in the same time in different places whenever she is remembered. There could be hundreds or thousands of people who might think of her. Then the question is - who would she visit first? And perhaps, the reason why her story became more horrible (that she transformed into a vampire) because of how she'd gone home as a ghost.

The White Van and the Green Van

In criminal law, kidnapping is the taking away or transportation of a person against that person's will, usually to hold the person in false imprisonment, a confinement without legal authority. This may be done for ransom or in furtherance of another crime, or in connection with a child custody dispute. When it is done with legal authority, it is often called arrest or imprisonment.[1]

In case of children, consent is not considered, especially if the child is too young to understand what is happening.

Speaking of kidnapping, the urban legend we're about to discuss is connected to it. Have you heard about the green van and the white van wandering in some part of Northern and Southern Luzon, and in Metro Manila with a purpose of kidnapping children of any age, then steal their internal organs out of their body? Well, I heard it often times when I lived once in Cavite. We were warned not to go out without any older companion together. Our Barangay Captain even ordered his Kagawads to post warnings in every poles where people can visibly see and read. They were roving every night just to make sure nothings going to happen.

I have read the horrible news from India about 19 children and woman in the slums of Nithari who were killed the same purpose with these green van and white van here in the Philippines.

There is a large demand for internal organs in the whole world, especially eyes, hearts and kidneys. They specially get it from children. Estimates indicate that at least one million children have been kidnapped and killed in the past 20 years for organs. A kidney or eyes can fetch up to US $10,000 and a heart could cost US $50,000 or more. Estimates further indicate that money laundering in this deadly trade accounts for up to 10% of the world’s GDP, or as much as US $5 trillion. As a result, the black market for children’s organs is expanding and more and more children are kidnapped and killed.[2] Like drug trafficking, organ trading can make you wealthy faster. That's why some people were finding a wise way of taking organs without being caught.

According to Asharq Al-Awsat, victims are primarily from Asia, Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union, Latin America and Africa, trafficking also takes place in developed countries. Those who take part in this trade make false promises about employment opportunities for the children and give money to the parents. Children are also stolen from orphanages, or handed over through a fake adoption process and killed for their organs. The intermediary may earn between US $50 and US $20,000 per child according to the source countries. In many cases, impoverished parents are sometimes persuaded to sell their children’s organs for as little as US $500.[2]

I can't believe what I'm reading. Unfortunately, all of it is happening.

By the way, did you know that organ trading in the Philippines is once legal, until March, 2008? The Philippine Information Agency, a branch of the government, promoted "all-inclusive" kidney transplant packages that retailed for roughly $25,000. Since instating the ban on organ selling, transplants have dropped from 1,046 in 2007, to 511 in 2010.[3]

Actually, there's only one country in the whole world where organ trading is legal, and it was Iran. In there country, kidney selling is legal and is also regulated.

    Legend

    [Taken from Internet:]

3 cases in San Pedro, Laguna already. Girls of any age getting kidnapped then returned dead with body organs missing like the heart, kidney, eyes. My friend’s neighbor was a victim. Mag ingat sa mga walang pusong gumagawa nito here’s the friendster bulletin of my friend:
[There were three (3) cases of girls of any age being kidnapped in San Pedro, Laguna. Then, their bodies were returned with missing organs, such as heart, kidney, and eyes. As soon as the bodies were returned, a bunch of money is inserted inside of it - as if payment for the organs. My friend's neighbor was a victim of this. Beware of these heartless people. Here's the friendster bulliten of my friend:]

I just a talk to a reliable source that said that there this men dressed in doctor suits, driving a closed van, that would kidnap young girls, and lately any person of any age, and take their organs. And leave the dead body somewhere leaving money inside the victim’s body–as thank you payment for the organ.
[I talked to a reliable source. He told me that a group of men dressed in doctor's suit and driving a closed van kidnap young girls and, lately, even people of any age. They take their internal organs, and leave their dead bodies, with money inside, anywhere. The money represents payment and gratitude for organs taken.]

Meron na pong namatay sa San Pedro, grade 5 girl student, nakitang patay missing her kidney.
[There's a victim already in San Pedro, a grade 5 girl student, found dead with missing kidney.]

Naagapan.
[And last week, a grade 3 student of Pacita, was found dead whose eyes and heart are taken, and they left 50k (fifty thousand) inside her body. She is now lying in state. Another case was in Chrysanthemum Village, they abducted a young girl but a trycicle driver saw them. He chased the van and, in the end, the child was thrown out of the window. Prevented.]

[And just last week, two girls should have been kidnapped in Reysal Supermarket, however people saw the kidnappers. Thus, the two were saved and not abducted. I also heard that there are similar cases in Batangas and Manila. So be careful wherever you go.]

    Vehicle:
    1. VXE 351 – Green Van
    2. VMM 507 – White Van

    [Taken from Internet:]

Kidnapping is rampant nowadays. Kidnappers usually asked ransom money from the parents of their victims. But lately, I was disturbed of the news about the kidnap victims whose internal organs were missing after they were found.

In Ibaan, Batangas four children were abducted. One of them were found with the pair of eyes missing and with Php 30,000 pesos on his/her mouth. Three were found with missing internal organs. There was also report in Tanauan, Batangas with a missing heart and Php 8,000 pesos on the hole of the victim’s chest. It’s really creepy.

Lately, there have been reports that the kidnappings is not only happening in Batangas. There were also similar incidents in Cavite and Laguna. Last Wednesday, March 5, my friend told me that there was a third year high school student (from a school in San Pedro, Laguna) was abducted on her way home. I still haven’t heard about what happened to the victim.

I heard that a syndicate is behind this kidnapping and they are selling the organs to the black market. Text messages and email messages has been circulating saying that a white van with plate no. VMM 507 is said to be the kidnappers van. In our place the cartographic sketch of the kidnapper and the plate no. of the vehicle used by the kidnapper were posted everywhere.

Residents in our area in Laguna were already afraid. Students going to school were now accompanied by their parents and yayas. It has been reported that the kidnappers where luring children going to and from school. Our school management even released a letter to parents to watch for their children when going to school and while playing outside their houses.

I appeal to our police to do something about this. This kind of horrific deeds should be taken seriously and investigate this matter.

    About

As you notice, all of the above stories each recounts an identical incident of kidnapping. Children went missing; their dead bodies found dumped in roadsides; their organs are missing; and a bunch of money is placed in the mouth or stomach. Then, a green van and white van were seen roaming in Manila, Batangas, Laguna, Nueva Ecija, Malabon, Valenzuela, and others, kidnapping children of ages from 3 to 16 years old, including both genders. The rumor spread, and the whole city or province found themselves in massive panic.

There was also a picture in Facebook.com that gave me a feeling of unwell and a want to puke. A little boy placed in a batya (tub) with visceras out of his body.

In addition, those entries above included the plate number of both white and green vans - VMM 507 for the former, and VXE 351 for the latter.

Actually, the urban legend has an identical foreign counterpart from Latin America. Almost the same story.

ABS-CBN, GMA, and TV5 featured this kind of story, but all answered similarly, THERE IS NO VAN WANDERING ANYWHERE TO KIDNAPPED CHILDREN. But whatever they say, people still believe that this exists. FOAF (Friend-of-a-friend) tale is obviously present here, influencing one person and another.

According to ABS-CBN SOCO, two children were almost kidnapped in Malabon and Valenzuela, and luckily both survived the abduction.

According to the 11-year-old (whose name is concealed for security), he was walking in Karuhatan, Valenzuela when two men wearing bonnets grabbed him and hauled him into a white van. When they reached Caloocan, the men parked the van and left him alone. That’s when he saw the opportunity to escape.

“Noong bumaba po sila, may nakita po akong bote sa baba tapos po binasag ko po ‘yong salamin,” Ian tells ABS-CBN SOCO. “Binuksan ko po tapos tumakbo na ako. Sumakay po ako ng jeep tapos bumaba po ako sa may overpass.” He then ran to his school and told his teachers what happened.
[When they all went out, I saw a bottle under me and I used it to break the glass (of the car). Ian tells ABS-CBN SOCO. I opened it (the car) then I ran away. I went on a ride with a jeep and I stopped in the overpass. He then ran to his school and told his teachers what happened.]

Ten days later, on March 14, 2011, a similar incident occurred in Panghulo, Malabon. Airah, not her real name, was on her way home when it all happened.

“Galing po kasi ako noon ng palengke,” Airah tells ABS-CBN SOCO. “Tapos noong malapit na po ako sa school, ‘yong van po, ‘pag mahina ‘yong lakad ko, mahina din po ‘yong takbo. ‘Pag tumakbo na po ako ng isang beses, bumilis na [rin] po ‘yong
[I was from the market that time, Airah tells ABS-CBN SOCO. Then when I was near the school, the van, whenever I walked slowly, it drove slowly as well. When I run faster, the van do the same.]

“Tapos noong huminto po ako, may tumalon pong lalaki,” she further adds. “Tumakbo na po ako tapos ‘yong lalaki pumasok po ulit sa van.”
[Then when I stopped, a guy jumped over me, she further adds. I ran, and the guy went back inside the van.]
